I was in 50th Field Battery, 23rd Field Regt. until the day the Regt left Aliwal Barracks, Tidworth for Suez. The day I was demobbed (two years National Service) the regiment paraded on the square with kit bags etc. and marched down to the train station in Tidworth. I followed in my 1936 Austin Ascot. Said my goodbuyes on the train station platform (have photos I took) them drove back to my home at The Fox Inn, Stourton, Stourbridge, worcs.
