Re: AO At Takhli F-111A's 72 73
I've seen a few posts before in different places about guys feeling they were exposed to AO and other nasty herbicides while working on aircraft that flew missions over Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. I myself feel that was a real possibility especially for those aircraft flying at low altitudes making a strike but I think they probably had trouble convincing the VA of that kind of exposure. The answer,if I remember right, was usually somewhere along the lines of "all aircraft with the possible exception of helicopters would have flown high above the ground where aircraft exposure to AO would not of been possible." I'm pretty sure most of the aircraft in question were F-105s, B-52s, F-4s, and various propeller planes. I'm not sure how the VA ruled on those aircraft. All of those flew low (except the B-52) at times but also flew high over targets at other times. But, the F-111 should be looked at differently.
