Re: the early days
Hi Harvey: I came from Duluth IAP in Jul 1965--there were a bunch of folks who arrived around the 23rd of July. We flew on a C-135 Travis to Wake Island to Clark. Spent about 5 days at Clark and then on to Bangkok--spent another week there--awaiting transportation to Takhli--great free time! Took "ole shakey jake"--a C-123 to Takhli--what a piece of snorting, smoking, shaking hunk of junk airplane! I was a Life Support troop in the 354th TFS. Did you ever know a Chris Petersen--he was an AGE troop--best man at my wedding and we're still in contact all these years. Takhli was a great assignment other than being away from the new wife. Got married 5 June and on 11 June I found out I was going to takhli-10 July I left Travis! Drop a line--be nice to share memories from the "Land of the King Cobra!!" Bob Wiley fishing9209@aol.com
