I was at Tahkli RTAB in the early days, July 1963 - Aug. 1964. I worked in a compound at the end of the runway. It was a 30-acre or so fenced in area. Inside the compound was an old wooden hanger with a Cobra painted above the doors, near the side entrance was a painting of Mickey Mouse. There was a large communication center and ammunition dump inside the compound… We ate and slept in a large two-story building with some Thai Paratroopers or Rangers. The food was very good I believe the cook was a retired army Major. Some nights we would have movies to watch in the eating area. There were some interesting things going on in this compound. These were some interesting times…
