Re: DBC&W/DC&S Abandonments
M***, I had the understanding that at the end of the DC&S, they were running from Caro on the west end to Roseburg on the east end. I thought there was something about sugar beats in the material the information came from, but I can't recall which source stated that (it might've been something you and Dave C. put out for one of the road rally's).
Essentially, my understanding is that when the Black River bridge near Fargo failed/wore out is when the line was cut back from Port Huron to the Fargo area, not all the way to Sandusky. That would have happened in bits and pieces until Col. Gray finally shut the company down and abandoned what was left on the line in the 1950's.
