Somebody else can fill you in on the symbols, but yeah, it was a whole lot busier. I mostly remember that there was quite a bit more intermodal traffic, at least two TOFC (200 series)trains each way per day (one went to Santa Fe at Corwith with the soft sided trailers), and then there was the APL stack train from Union Pacific to Flat Rock. A couple of SCATs (short crew automotive trains), and general freight to Chicago and Flint, plus TSBY. Might be exciting still for younger fans in Durand, but nothing like it used to be. I'll see if I can dig up my symbol list from that period... RandallG
