How about a shortline? You could get some real experience with a Shortline or Regional before getting into the big leagues with the Class 1s.
The problem right now with the Class 1s and getting a job are two things - decreased traffic and Distributed Power, both of which are putting a downward pressure in the need for crews.
Just some thoughts. Don't give up.
