I agree, Ginger! If JJ were to return, I so hope Genie would reconsider recurring since I know she would love to work with him again. Think of what a joy that would be for the audience too! If JJ comes back and Genie isn't there, all parties have lost out. I agree with what J said earlier about her status though. I completely believe it is a slap in her face given what she is to soaps for her to even consider recurring status. With that said, I guess it just depends on what her goals are at this point and how much she wants to work in general versus how much she would be willing to wait this out and hopefully grow the character when something changes with the suits there. As they say, career satisfaction isn't all about the money, but it would be a big pill to choke down if she did take less money to stay on contract or accept recurring status. My main hope if she did consider less money or recurring in order to keep Laura on the canvas would be that she would know that the people who matter personally to her are very well aware of her value and contribution and would also know that she is just biding time until the tide shifts. In no way would these people think less of her. I'm sure it could impact hiring decisions for other projects though if she has aspirations for something larger. It's a gamble and just comes down to what is most important to her at gut level. I am behind her, as we all are, no matter what she decides to do about this show.
