I just wanted to add a link and a thought to that long list. I'd mentioned that I thought IGH would have been a better choice than "South Coast" because IGH writer Fred Geis was a real Californian and a real hobo.

Well, he was - but Lilian Bos Ross and Sam Eskin who wrote SC were equally Californian, minus the hobo part.

The information about both songs just happened to be readily available in the Comparative Video 101 essays that I had completed more than a decade ago on each song.

Both articles are remarkably complete - meaning that all of the videos still work except for the New Wine Singers on IGH. That's amazing given the age of the articles and videos - YouTube started in 2005 and I've been posting on it since 2006, and the site has been sold a couple of times (Google owns it now, as it seems to for everything). Several times the videos have stopped working when embedded, and it's been a pain to keep things updated.
