Hello Terry, I know Hoagy Carmichael was also a singer but I'm not aware that the others were singers as well. Any "Greatest" list is purely opinion and not to be taken as fact. I just found that I agreed with a lot of Rick's selections and wanted to see who else like yourself would add to the list. Thanks for contributing! MTABob
This sort of "All time greatest" can be fun, but it bugs me when that term is used.
I would prefer the term something like, here are "MY favorite" twenty of whatever.
Who gets to determine (and how) the ALL TIME greatest of anything?
I didn't check out the fella's list so I don't know who's on it. Is Hoagy Carmichael, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Leiber/Stoller, Stephen Foster etc. on his list?
I once saw a report on the GREATEST guitar players of all time, the fella writing the list must have gone back AT LEAST three or four years on his research :>)
Having said that, there's nothing wrong with sharing ones personal favorites, just saying the term GREATEST of all doesn't fit.
Picky picky, picky...TC
Rick Beato has a very interesting and popular YouTube channel. A couple of weeks ago he covered (In his opinion) the 20 greatest singer songwriters of all time.
I know this is one man's opinion but what do you think of his list? I thought it was pretty good except for who he had number one and one glaring exception of who he left out.
This is one of those questions which has no right answer but what do you all think about it? Video is about twenty minutes long. MTABob
P.S. Want to see if anyone else agrees with the one glaring omission I thought of.
