Mette-Marit's health "has become 'a lot worse' in recent weeks"

The future Queen of Norway's health has become 'a lot worse' in recent weeks amid her years-long battle with pulmonary fibrosis, her husband has revealed.

Crown Princess Mete-Marit, 52, first made her battle with the condition, in which breathing becomes increasingly difficult due to scarred lungs, public in 2018.

Now, Crown Prince Haakon has sadly revealed that the Crown Princess's condition has deteriorated significantly, just ten days after she was pictured wearing a nasal cannula at the nation's Constitution Day children's parade on May 17.

Prayers for Mette Marit an her family. I hope Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus are able to spend a lot of time with her right now and I hope Marius can make video calls. Haakon is facing so many things and I hope he is getting support.

Haakon has his hands full. His parents are frail, his wife is in failing health, he has one child in jail awaiting sentencing, the other two children aren't ready to assume royal duties and his sister is off in airy-fairy land with her unsuitable husband. So, for all intents and purposes, Haakon IS the monarchy in Norway.

The slimmed-down monarchy style looks good on paper, but in this instance reinforcements are needed. Haakon and the children will be in mourning after the inevitable cascade of funerals.

Isn't Ingrid in Australia for school right now? Or do I have her mixed up with someone else.

Yes she is. Sidney. I still find it an odd choice. Most of the other college-age heiresses are doing the Oxbridge/Ivy League route, which is great for making connections.

We all viewed MM on National Day and how far her disease has progressed. She was diagnosed in 2018 and the disease progress is about 3-5 yr. so MM has "surpassed" the "usual" progression. I think that, in most part, was due to her relatively young age and physical condition at the time of diagnosis.
Yet again, I say her condition was not helped due to the amount of stress she experienced last year and this year so far.

As an aside, Marius's lawyers have tried to get him out of jail and on house arrest with a monitor. The judge took 15 min. and said, "No". The reason wasn't because of his step-grandparents or his mother..."he just doesn't like jail."

I hate to think that she only has a few years left. She'll miss her children's weddings and holding her grandchildren. She may not live to see her husband become king.

We don't the exact details of her condition, but she may not be a candidate for a lung transplant. We have to wait and see what happens.

I thought I'd read that she was on the list for a lung transplant.

I hate to say this, but I don't think she has much time left. Her health is starting to decline more and more. I think Haakon and the family will be going through four funerals in the next year Harald, Sonja, and Astrid are not in good health either.

I think Ingrid Alexandra wants to experience a carefree existence and be just a regular college student. I think her parents supported that. I think she chose not to go to school in the US because of current events and she really wanted to be able to relax, travel, and have fun while young. The chances are very good that she will have to act as hostess for her father when he becomes King and will have to shoulder a lot more responsibility.

Her mother did a short stint in Australia.
That might have helped sway her choice.
