Interesting claim. If Sarah was running, or trying to run, lucrative scams then her daughters could be caught up in that net. No one really knows who was bankrolling the vacations or lifestyle the princesses enjoyed. Their salaries didn't cover their expenses, so were they accompanying their mother as a cover to give her credibility?

Con artist is a good label for Fergie. I'm sure it was hell on earth working for her, it's bad enough when a "boss" is unorganized/scatter brained, but one who also schemes and plots at getting staff to turn on one another is one nasty person. Fergie and Meghan are really two peas in a nasty pod.
There's a story that Fergie wants to "negotiate" with the Royal Family as to a royal pension for her. She gets a pension or she goes on Oprah and "tells all". Really Fergie? You hung out with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein, Diddy, and got in on business schemes that ended up being scams. You are going to tell all, don't make me laugh. The public won't buy your tales, not from a liar, con artist, and friend of pedophile freaks.

I've given Sarah the benefit of the doubt for years. I thought she was foolish and hapless, but ultimately harmless. But her grasping need for material comfort went further than I imagined. She was actually receiving money from Epstein and fawning over him. He didn't give money for nothing, and he already had access to Andrew so he didn't need her for that. Was it just to keep on Andrew's good side?

What a peach of a mother. However, Beatrice knew her mother's extreme spending habits and should have refused to let her use her card....unless her mother stole the card. It makes sense that Beatrice has separated herself from her mother in the last several years.

It was the "normal" the daughters were raised with so they may not have realized the severity of Sarah's problems until they were adults and responsible for their own spending. Beatrice was the "heir" and Eugenie the "spare", so I can see how one is more care-taking of their mother and the other is more independent of that.

I think Edo helped Beatrice cut the apron strings, or rather he cut them for her. It's one thing to promote your own business through a royal connection but quite another to let that business suffer through the same. And now, with the York family in virtual exile, his royal connection needs to be buried to protect his business. The smart move for Beatrice is to be known as Countess Mapeli Mozzi and put the York title behind her. It won't change her status as an HRH, but it will buy her and her husband's business, some breathing room.

Beatrice can't use the title Countess Mapeli Mozzi as foreign titles of nobility cannot be officially used or recognized in the UK by British citizens, following a 1932 Royal Warrant. She is a Princess by Royal Blood and could be simply called Princess Beatrice, dropping 'of York'. Though since her marriage she been styled by the Court Circular as: Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Beatrice, as far as I know, has never had gainful employment. I think the sources of Beatrice's money were the inheritances she likely received from her great grandmother, grandfathers, and grandmothers, as well as an allowance she likely received from her grandmother the Queen when she was alive and before Beatrice's marriage. On the Ferguson/Barrantes side, if she got anything, it may not have been substantial. If Sarah was using Beatrice's card, then that means she was okay with taking money away from Beatrice's future. Sure, Beatrice might have allowed it, but Sarah took advantage of her daughter.
