It's not surprising at all. Edward was well-dressed and had an interest in clothing from teenager hood on.Alexandra was slender and beautiful. What she wore would be noted and copied. I think this photo was taken during the Cowes Regatta Edward loved yachting and Alexandra's dress has a nautical look.
