There is still considerable animus between Spencer and the Windsors. Just as a rude gesture to the BRF, he would offer Them a safe haven at Althorpe. Since he isn’t invited to any Windsor events anyway, Spencer isn’t losing anything by doing this. He’ll forever be on the outs because of the eulogy he gave for Diana so it doesn’t matter. I have a hunch this was discussed when They were at Althorpe recently. I would not be surprised to learn They are staying in a guest home on the estate, if not in the main house.
