I think that since there is an heir to the Chrysanthemum Throne, Hisahito won't be displaced through adoption. But I have to admit it's a genius way to get one over on Akishino. If Hisahito had been another daughter, then Naruhito and Masako would have either had to adopt a son from within the family or the constitution would have had to be changed to allow for an empress.
