Born and raised in the Atlanta metro area. When we get any type of winter wet stuff it's usually ice. Any "snow" we get is normally light with an underlay of ice. That's what shuts metro Atlanta down. In the "blizzard of 1974, we had zero power and heat for a week. My Mom, Dad and I "lived" in the combination Family room/kitchen for a week. There was a big fireplace there and we had a gas grill on the patio.. We had another one in the mid 80s..it took my then husband 10 hours to get home from the downtown area. The five inches of snow we had last week was truly snow. I don't drive on snow and or ice. I have 1 car and 1 life. I'd like to keep both intact.
