I'm kind of not surprised this finally came about. The last 2-3 weeks have been messy for the King. First, the e-mail from Fergie to Epstein proving she lied all the time and her pathetic attempts at trying to put a reason for the e-mail/continued contact. Then the bomb dropped on Andrew, which, at least he didn't even attempt to put up an excuse. The last bit about "we can play some more" or something like that was the final damning straw. This on top of the shady, murky relationships with the Middle Eastern Royal families and the Central Asian ruling families.
It finally all came to head. This was a huge blow to both Andrew and Fergie, who loved to throw that Duchess of York title in everyone's face. I feel for Beatrice and Eugenie, it's a humiliation they are going through and they are innocent.
