She is gone. Look forward not backward. We all remember the glory days of womens and mens basketball, but they are gone too. Long Beach is a great educational institution and I am greatful for the education I recieved there. I don't lose sleep over what Jane has done, both positive and negative. Life moves on. I am hopeful that we have a great basketball season (men and women) next year inspite of the new NCAA funding bill that screws the mid majors and the possible funding cuts to both the UC and the State University system. I am more concerned about those two items than what Jane has or has not done in the past.

heck, it's a far cry from 2012-2015 just before she arrived.
I just do not get it.
I get everyone wants and likes to have a job, but what is that saying? Don't confuse energy with accomplishiment!!
and in Jane's case, there was NEITHER!!! Previous Message
or political press secretary
Throws non facts or insults at anything not pro the incumbent administration.
Doubt any background past the Baby Shark days.
Conoley destroyed 25 pro growth years at LBSU in all directions.
Academics down, giving in toilet, retirements across campus arena record high... and Athletics, well, we are great in the one sport with 16 D1 teams.
Far far far cry from WVB elite, Dirtbags CWS regularly or even going to regional amnost annually for 20 yrs, and the Seth and Joan hoops days. Previous Message
lol, Long Beach was in demand before Jane arrived.
top 5 in applicants BEFORE Jane arrrived.
she didn't make Long Beach any more in demand, she inherited an 'in demand' University
jeezus!!!
can you list anything of substance???!!! Previous Message
yes you have an internal viewpoint!
SO WHAT!!
you can't and haven't conveyed any accomplishment, just your feelings.
so then convey concrete accomplishments.
her job is HARD! people get that. SO WHAT, a LOT is expected!
"CSU has gained much respect across the.."" ? huh, based on what? your peception on 'the inside'
that is not CONCRETE. that is just bureaucratic blather dude.
CSU has issues. enrollment and numbers driven by demographics and population is DOWN, the CSU is SLOW to react. it has made dubious decisions, like re-branding gimmick of calling Humboldt a "Polytechnic" STUPID attempt at trying to fix something by re-branding and SHOWS LACK OF LEADERSHIP
there is a concrete example dude. So refute that if you can!
Sonoma State? man, close it and save money and consolidate it.
Channel Islands, close it or put it under CSUN
jeez dude, there are financial problems. Business would consolidate and make tough decisions so as the overall CSU does not bleed as much
all you want to seem to advocate for is 'everything is ok, Jane is wonderful, you have no idea' type of responses lol
You provided not ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE OF LEADERSHIP OR ACCOMPLISHMENT. All you did is basically say she did a great job? at waht? marking time over 10 years? all based on the fact you have a job 'in the system' lol, go ahead and do the following:
'Jane made this xxyyzz better by doing aabbcc, and the result was measured or is demonstrated by gghhff"
go ahead back it up. I see you can't back up the $310 mil BS charade, lol, probably because you really don't know any more than Jane and some accountant somewhere in CSULB added up a bunch of BS to count dollars as 'fundo-raising' .
How specifically did Jane make Long Beach better in diversity? not in subjective opinion
How did Jane improve academics?
How did Jane improve athletics? Can you speak to the loss of hosting NCAA Beach VB championships under her watch. Is that not an embarrasement to you?
How did Jane improve the Arts?
jeez dude. What did she actually accomplish? being employed is not an accomplishment, well maybe for her it was!! Previous Message
I have an internal viewpoint on her decisions and the accomplishments of the university. You and others have your opinions, which are an external viewpoint, but have little validity in day-to-day operations. CSULB, which you seem not to be able to admit, has gained much respect across the nation in all educational programs, projects, and policies. You and others love sports, I get it, but sports are secondary or tertiary to the mission and vision of CSULB. People on both boards love to live in the past with their thoughts on how things were, whether accurate or not. I live in the now and our university is rocking it in Southern California and across the country. We are in demand, we should appreciate this, and it doesn't happen without leadership. dude, I guess you are accepting of the CSU Chancelor's office appointing a 67 year old crony 10 years ago, then she leeches on the CSU sysstem for 10 years, disappears her last 3 or so years in her Position.
I think I have a pretty good idea of concrete accomplishments and leadershp, you can disagree.
I just dare you to be specific. "Jane made this decision and this was the result, due to this"
go ahead, be specific, and if you bring up the $310 million, you better be prepared to list the break down of what was actual funds and new donors and concrete donors, and how much of that was just normal funding expected and in the course of her position . because I guarantee you if she actually 'raised' $310 million, the Beach endowment would have rocketed up....and it HAS NOT. so go ahead, be specific. lol, $310 mil in 18 months, and she terminated it early because? uh, why would anyone terminate a successful fund-raising program?!. pure BULL-SH&T!!! Previous Message
You have no basis in reality on accomplishments. Previous Message
she should show some respect and resign for doing NOTHING of value over 10 years but pad her pension
the ultimate irony, Jane is the ultimate 'White Privilege' beneficiary.
would be funny, but it's too sad.
77 years old and just hung around and accomplished squat, and LIED about raising $310 million, total BS number Previous Message
The Prez will help in the transition for the new person. Previous Message
The Chancellor’s Office website has always stated that the announcement would be made at the July Trustees meeting, so it’s not a rumor, and there is no reason to believe anything is amiss. Appointing an interim is nothing to worry about either. We just have to hope that the process found some candidates who will be up to the job. Previous Message
It's rather odd that we haven't heard any formal or informal news about Jane's replacement. Jane's last day is June 30, exactly 3 weeks away. There was speculation that her replacement would be named during the CSU Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for July 20-23. But, that would require them appointing an interim (albeit a short term) president. They would have done that by now if that was the case. Another more likely scenario is that the CSU will announce her successor soon (like this week) and the person will be local, as in either the current provost or someone local who could assume the duties on July 1. It won't be someone from afar because that person couldn't take over the reigns on July 1st either. This doesn't sound promising...
