he has charisma
however, this just makes his decision to leave Beach even more of a head scratcher, he had a highly paid head coach position, on an upward trajectory, and in SoCal.
so much for 'leaving for security' lol, maybe assistance at USC don't get guaranteed contracts.
maybe he looked at the WCC next year, and Pepperdine, LMU, Wazzou all losing talent BYU gone, so figures he can be a 1 or 2 year 'wonder boy' and position to move his family around another time when another P4 job opens
he had a real chance to be top dog in the Big West.
just seems a bid sad, but who knows
maybe St. Mary's is making moves to be top dog in the WCC to get some invite to the Pac-XYZ, forget the Mountain West, that's nowhere's land Previous Message
His ego must have taken a big hit for him to take this job. St Marys has no history of success in volleyball and has no community support as their attendance figures reveal. One change in his BS statements is that this time he says that it's going to take some time to build the program. He is a long way from being at the top and it's going to be a much tougher sell.
LBSU was a much better volleyball job and I sure hope that our newly appointed coach makes the NCAA way before Saint Marys even contends for a conference championship.
