Ah, you may have a valid point on the NS, but they're more joined at the hip to Great Lakes Central. Lake State Railway has become a very aggressive and well oiled railroad...car counts both ways thru Flint have increased significantly since their take-over of CSX operations last March 29. I've been doing some research on Brookfield. They paid a lot of money for Genesee Wyoming. Their management mindset is somewhat along the line of Harrison Hunter. If it isn't producing "X" profit numbers, they're not interested in owning it. Like I mentioned above, none of us like to see any rail lines stop service. But the coal was a big money maker for HESR. Let's hope that with the remaining business they remain high enough on the profit level to keep Brookfield management happy.
