I'm glad she's back, I'm glad she insisted on a story. She was told by fans at meet/greet to do what was best for her, we'd understand if she said forget it. social media made a difference..she came back to a set, 2 stories (year worth) better clothes. I'll hang w/ the show as long as she does.
We really won't know the truth until Tony writes that book that he has talked about. I think he tried to hold on to the franchise, but at some point, he gave up on it. Maybe he was told that they would not commit to LnL because of the price tag. I certainly don't know. There are people who blame him, and that is not fair. He didn't make her career decisions, and he didn't make the contract decisions for ABC. He was happy to work with Jane or whomever...Robin christopher, Finola Hughes. After all, he was getting older and easing out of the leading man category.
I wonder what really ticked him off at the end? He became a very bitter man when he left. I guess we have seen the last of TG. I just can't watch GH without him. Sad.
For Laura. She's made that clear; that was the heart of the conflict, the entire point. In fact there use to be an interview from way back in the 80s where Genie teased that idea.
TBH the only people I've ever seen who think the baby could be Luke's are diehard L&L fans. Nobody else involved in the decision, and other fans I've encountered through the years, have ever thought it was a question.
Also, to be fair, during the time period in question Tony Geary didn't want to break up L&L and the Spencer family. It was the exact opposite. He was fighting to keep them together, and refused to play Luke against another love interest during Genie's leaves.
