The main problem with "everyone gets to State" is that it has devalued the meaning of the achievement, discourage healthy competition, and teaches athletes that simply participating is mostly enough, even when they haven't put in significant effort, potentially hindering their ability to learn from failure and strive for improvement in life situations where not everyone gets rewarded equally; essentially creating a false sense of entitlement and undermining the value of hard work and excellence. "State"

Stop celebrating just getting to state and celebrate PLACING- that is still going to be very hard to do at almost every weight, every division.

It is no different than when coaches woukd try to get kids seeded at local tournaments off of being a "regional participant". One of the main reasons I only seed state placers when hosting our in season tournaments.

The structure has changed so it is only fair that changing where we put value should too.

Spot on, but still would like to see A and B boys combined, as well as waiting another year or 2 before seperating girls classifications. Not that difficult for any of them to place.

3A and 4A girls had 16 girls go to state last year. This year they have 64 going to state. 😳
