Disrespectful Coach

Yesterday at the Auburn Mt View tournament all Choas broke out. The tournament was stopped to clear the floor, and it was probably the best move of the day.

Minutes later in a match between Lincoln and Federal Way a punch was thrown, and all parents and wrestlers rushed the mat looking for a fight.

Most coaches and adults tried to calm the situation down. But then one guy, from Lincoln, in a black dodgers hat and tattoos started yelling and clapping “Season over, and you lost.” Taunting a high school athlete. This behavior should never come from an adult. Is this man Coach? I hope he is not. He was in a polo like he is. Just embarrassing, rather than show class and show his own wrestlers how to handle the situation he went straight to taunting.

If this coach wasn’t ejected, he should have been.

Funny you say Lincoln being Lincoln but it was federal way who started the fight? Also, wrestlers storming the mat “looking for a fight” is kind of a reach. That’s simply just teammates having each others back imo.

Don't know if it was the Lincoln coach or not, but that coach is good good person. Hard to believe anything that happened was unprovoked.

If Federal Way caused a melee, and all that coach did was say something so moderate, get over yourself. Did it help the situation?

Feel free to explain the behaviors of the other side, something tells me you're not explaining the entire story.

This thing got way out of control. The blue haired girls with facial tattoos and nose rings yelling how much they hate trump were a minor distraction.

The five cops on horseback tried to calm things down.

The person in the hulk costume yelling "hulk smash" was entertaining.

I agree that coach is a great dude, and I don’t think it’s right to talk about Lincoln as a bad team like someone else did. Never had a single problem with their coaches or kids, nice guys all around.

As someone who saw it, the match got way out of hand. I put most of that on the ref for mishandling how he dealt with coaches and wrestlers. He went from being yelled at to hugging the Lincoln coach all while the two kids were ready to kill each other behind him. The ref also missed at least one face push from FW while dealing with screaming coaches. I think at least one coach should have been removed long before the end of the match, I didn’t even see a coach misconduct. Not saying they aren’t good dudes over all but they were freaking out, screaming at the ref, and running on the mat the whole time.

The punch was bad but it should never have gotten to that point. The host school did a good job clearing people out or it could have been worse. I never saw the Lincoln kid do anything dirty the whole time, he handled himself well.

I saw the dad of the kid in the finals say nasty stuff when his kid lost a while back to the kid who beat his son. The coach may be a good guy, but that kid and his dad are headcases.

I mean the dad did run out of the stands half way through the match and was beating his chest yelling mat side until it ended when he ran out on the mat and rose his sons hand while people were pulling the other kid away. Pretty crazy behavior for sure.

Shoot...I don't know where fantasy and reality begins and end at this point. We've reached a real life version of Poe's law, where I can't tell if this is sarcasm or real.

Did this happen? My brain says you're kidding, but honestly I don't know.

I was in the gym as well and was sitting in the front and “in the gym” hit the nail on the head. As for the others couldn’t really tell, especially after hell broke loose. Regardless to what happened, calling the Lincoln kid a head case for what the father does is pretty uncalled for. Another note was the FW kids dad was constantly calling out coaches and kids to “come talk outside” during the scuffles and kept his hand by his waistband the entirety of everything.

I witnessed the kid's behavior on the mat in previous matches, but make no mistake the dad was rude and cursed out a kid that beat his kid in the finals of a tournament. I couldn't believe what I heard at the time. It looked like the kid he cursed out couldn't have cared less since he whooped the son so badly but it was weird to see. I guess Federal Way tolerates less.

I didn't know there was that much "give a shit" about wrestling from anyone in Federal Way.

Well, I wasn't there, but it sounds like there is plenty for the Host School Athletic director to sort through in the aftermath.

There are lines that one shouldn't cross and consequences available for offenders.

Agreed. In my case I had witnessed the dad act like a total moron during the finals of a tournament a few weeks prior, cursing the other kid out at the end. I was sitting at the scorer's table and he was calling the kid names.

I personally don't need a video to know he may have acted a fool.
