Torrez & montiel both put on a clinic at the tournament and niether got OW!?!? Bias much ? Kiara getting OW was baffling !

You are right both did wrestle great in finals. If you talk to your coach though votes from other coaches were put in before finals matches started just like other tourneys. Torres from Granger also had a great tournament.

Track shows Kiara Torres got a pin in :56 seconds in the finals. Also shows she took out the number 1 seed in earlier rounds. That not considered a clinic like Torrez and Montiel?

100 bracket was not that tough. 105 was the toughest bracket and Torrez was head and shoulders above everyone else. Yeah.. a biased pick of OW.

Biased pick by who??? All the coaches??? At the end of the day all 3 of those girls are tough wrestlers, but Toppenish girls will be over shadowed by the antics and reputation Toppenish (Dem Boys) have. It’s sad but true. Great wrestling this weekend from all.

Why is Toppenish so easily offended cause people didn’t vote for their girls. Quit ur complaining. Did ur girls put on a clinic or were the brackets not that tough. I think all 3 girls are great wrestlers. It obviously comes down to people actually like Kiara and the Granger team and not the Topp girls that walk around like they are to good for everyone.

Instead of focusing on who won OW we should be talking about the shit show if a tournament this was. $16 to enter only to have to stand up in the hallways cause there was absolutely no where to sit. We need to get over these big tournaments. Day one was going to be finished by 7:30 and finished at 10:30. Day 2 they allowed coaches to weigh in their own girls. What a joke. I’m sure no one missed weight and all passed skin checks. This iwas not right. 4 minute matches? Never heard of this before. I believe all consolation matches have to be 5 minutes. Hopefully Othello made their money cause this tournament gets worse and worse every year. You are not kelso braided tourney quit trying to be. Wrestling room is horrible set up. Trying to squeeze a hundred people on the edge of the mats to watch or being in the hole or on deck.

Yes this tourney is always a shit show. This year has to be the worse.championship matches were running with consolation matches. Who does that? Give these ladies the respect they deserve and make them standout. Not just wrestle along with consolation matches. Hospitality room is one of the worse I have seen.

This solely falls on the shoulders of the tournament director and AD. Not sure who the new person that runs the Lady Husky tournament is, but it is not running efficient. Using excuses like "We are gonna be running longer this round because of the quality of matches is a lot better" is a shit show of an excuse. Having coaches weigh-in your own athletes and not even turning in your weigh-in sheet is wrong. If you're going to do that at least have an opposing team coach weigh-in your athletes. 62 teams is too many; I get that it's a fundraiser (heard the AD say it multiple times over PA) but at some point it gets out of control.

WIAA should look into this tournament as two big rules we’re not compliant. Not turning in weigh in sheets with no actual weigh in. Coaches went through the motions but guaranteed weights were not accurately checked or documented. Second the 4 minute matches is not considered a match and can be challenged. The win losses in consolation round can be overturned and match count should not be counted towards wrestlers. The tournament director saying the rules are different because it was an “open” tournament is crazy. WIAA rules should be followed. Congrats Othello you made a lot of money on your “fundraiser” but as an opposing. Inch I hope you lose the right to run a tournament next year.

Then we will go off and complain about state qualifer only to follow with of course wiaa and state! Oh but we can only complain behind a fake name on here and never stand up as the real person to make the complaints to try to make a difference.

Raenah Smith is tough too! I thought she could have been in the running as well. She beat the Pasco girl pretty easily in the finals, which the Pasco girl beat Lamothe earlier that day.

Everyone will always complain about something. Overall I thought it was a great tourney. Yes big numbers but what girl tourney do you go to that’s not jam packed? You will complain because to many people yet we will be same ones who would complain that tourney wasn’t big enough or as you say not that strong. Seriously just shut it already. The complaint of hospitality room? You kidding? Pizza, breakfast burritos, birra tacos, pasole, baked potatoes. Was one of better ones that I’ve been to this year and way better than previous year. The 4 minute matches I don’t agree with. Especially so close to state go 1-2-2. OW argument is ridiculous because all coaches voted before finals matches so had nothing to do with finals. When you look at brackets I would also have picked Kiara due to she was not seeded and upsetted the number 1 seed to make finals and also had a convincing pin in finals. Same with Berger from Granger, and Pasco girl upsetting White River in semi finals who also was number 1. I would encourage Othello to bring back the finals like it once was rather then get the feel of let’s just get done. Overall though it was still a good tourney. There is an argument case for every girl in lower weight class but why it goes to coaches vote. Quit complaining or just find a different tourney. Someone is always complaining just about every girl tournament on this board. If you are a parent or fan don’t go. If you are a coach quit! Or enjoy what Washington Wrestling is doing for girls.
