I am curious about this statement. The goal at this site (The WWR) has always been to get the final rankings, that are released right before Mat Classic, as close to the final standings at Mat Classic as possible. I have always requested my rankers to rank during the regular season based on recent results, and lowest observed weight group, not on estimates of what weight they may be at state, or an estimate of who will win state. During the regular season they are fluid and can change week to week based on recent results. The rankings that come out after regionals (now after districts) were the exception in that the ranker was to "predict" the placings of the final 16, based on his/her observations during the season. The closer they could be to the final placings the better and if you hit 8 for 8 then they have earned a little time to roar. No brag, just fact...

I appreciate the efforts of all the people who have served on this site as rankers over the years. It is a hard and time consuming task and they deserve (have earned) the appreciation of the wrestling community.
