I just can't wrap my head around any concern for "Alternates" this year. The State just doubled the number of participants!

With the expansion of the tournament, the state has effectively rendered the concept of "Alternates" as "No longer Applicable".

Proponents of alternates, under any scenario, are being tone deaf to the new reality.

Perhaps there is language somewhere in a WIAA handbook section, or some district/league document that refers to "alternates". If so, it all just needs to go away to eliminate confusion.
