As someone who wrestled when it was 3 divisions and 13 weight classes, I see your point but you will get over it. It used to drive me crazy that kids who “should not have the honor” were making it to state. Prior to 1996, 624 kids made it. Then is the early 2000s 1120 kids made it, essentially the same as the top 7 from regionals prior to 1996. Now, it’s 2240 boys make it to state, or the equivalent of the top 14 from each pre 1996 region. My point is, it’s been happening for years and the sport has only gotten bigger. Expansion is good and eventually the talent will catch up or least be close. Congrats to all!
