Landrover Discovery 4 - Parking brake test problem #

Has anyone carried out an MOT test on later Discos and Range Rovers and found the parking brake test a problem?
The bedding mode on Disco 3 models can put the parking brake on hard enough for an MOT pass if it's in good order.
On the later cars it seems to be a truer 'bedding' mode, i.e. it only seems possible to apply the parking brake very gradually.

I've only ever tested my own, i just pull and hold the switch up til it comes to a stop, it only just meets minimum requirements. I usually do it about three times at different speeds.

If you dont put it into 'bedding in mode' it uses the ESP/ TC system to bring it to a controlled stop so you are not testing the park brake at all.

Yeah sorry, it was in bedding mode, I should've said "after putting it in bedding mode, I pull and hold the switch"

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not certain that the test equipment will make any difference to the outcome. I use a standard Tapley deccelerometer for vehicles that can't be tested on rollers. Calibrated as per the DVSA requirements. Vehicle put into bedding mode as per DVSA instruction. It just seems that the bedding mode on Disco 4 models doesn't apply the parking brake as effectively as on earlier Disco 3s.
Bear in mind that DVSA have always specified 20mph (32kph) as the speed at which the parking brake should be tested, not various different speeds.

In bedding in mode the full force of the handbrake will not be applied until you are virtually stopped, then you can feel the rear of the car go down & the handbrake creak on.
