All cars - DPF figures #

Year of Manufacture *: 2010

Evening.

I'm looking for some figures to use when diagnosing dpfs. Depending on system it can be volts, kpa, mbar pr percentages. What's acceptable? What needs a forced regen, and what needs replaced. Thanks.

there are various information about dpf condition and need of regeneration from various sources which can be confusing. the best thing to do is collect your own data from cars coming in to the workshop keep them and study them later. as I have a dpf car a 207 1.6 hdi I have taken live data at various dpf soot load levels car standing and driven and this has helped me understand how the system works especially when something goes wrong. the live data I later try to post is when this car had one of it's glow plugs failed and therefore it couldn't regenerate after I replaced all the glow plugs I recorded the live data and the dpf load soot was showing at 93% some would tell you it should be replaced it's too far blocked still I drove it on the motorway it felt normal and I was able to get it to regenerate and save all the live date as it was driving

Kris,
I use 100 kpa pressure different at 2500 rpm any higher it needs cleaning or regening .

100 kpa is one bar and that sounds too high for me
take a look at this Peugeot 207 1.6 hdi 2007 the first row of data is at idle and the second at 3.200rpm

Hi Kris,

As a guide we use

KOEO; 0 Millibars
Hot idle; 0 - 10 Mb
3000rpm less than 80 Mb

This seems to work across the board

BMW diag tool checks pressure at idle, revs car itself to 2k then asks operator for WOT which limits at around 4/4500 rpm figure here is less than 200 Mb
