Mercedes Vito 120 V6 2010 -Oil high warning #

I'm having problems with a few Vito vans reporting to the driver that the oil level is high after we have serviced them.
The one I have in at the moment is a 3.0 v6 diesel.
I have reset the service with KTS and that seems to have worked ok. I filled it with Millers fully synthetic and have tried it at various levels on the dipstick from full to minimum and as soon as the engine warms up and the car drives for a mile or so it brings up a picture of an oil can and 'HI'

I tried draining it again and filling with genuine Mercedes oil but ( as I kind of expected ) no change.

Bosch Technical helpline tell me there was some sort of KTS online update for this fault but I have the latest software in KTS now and I still cant get it to stay off.
Actual values show oil level at 41mm with the engine off and 28 mm with the engine idling.

Next thought is perhaps it needs a reflash using MB star or something but wondered if anyone else has had this problem

Hello Glen,
We have a few Vito vans in company fleet and a couple have gone back to the Mercedes dealer with this fault and both times they have replaced the oil level sensor.
But as they were both covered by warranty I never really got down and dirty with it!! if you know what I mean

I do remember one of them went in twice because the new senor had failed again

This is all very strange, it has gone into Mercedes and the only thing they have done differently is used a genuine oil filter.
Could it be as simple as that ??

It has bought the question, what brand of filter did you use, to my mind Glen.

Could it possibly have a different micron media changing the oil flow rate ??

Or even, could they have changed the level sensor without telling you ?
