Year of Manufacture *: 2004 ( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1.2 16v D4F722
dec ss3, autel ds708, solus pro engine ecu - no comms, non-start Hi all got a right royal pain with this one immobiliser light stays on solid, worked through clio fault finding notes on immob. key recognised & correct. next step is to check ecu. no comms with ecu at all, siemens sim32 3 multiplugs. according to ad wiring digram, 1 fused feed to ecu also tags to engine control relay. load tested with v. drop of 0.02v using teslite 1 earth split to 5 pins, load tested, v drop 0.03v using same method. 2 comms wires from uch connect to ecu, both load tested to 0.02v drop when disconnected at either end & 12v fed in, checked white multiplug, fuses & relays in engine bay fuse box, all ok, no earth feed from ecu to engine cont. relay, no fuel pump prime, all function when relays triggered. sent ecu to "reputable" ecu repairer to be made free running, also requested that they checked the ecu did actually power up & operate when immob. work done. don't think they read that part as i rang them this aft, had to speak to another guy (3rd party)who actually did the ecu, he wanted picture sending of ecu label & engine code, done, & then he was muttering about one that he'd fitted once that wouldn't power up due to it being on an incline & lack of fuel pressure being the reason it only cranked for 3 seconds (ecu self protection) & when it was on the level the fuel pressure was sufficient to allow crank & start. as there's no fuel prime probably due to the fact that the ecu is not powering up to switch the relays i'm not convinced. sorry for the rant, but i'm hoping i've not missed a vital check that would account for this renault dead in my workshop.
Does the starter motor spin over if you manually power up the solenoid switch wire.
I had one in last week which was not switching a good earth to any of the relays in the under bonnet fuse box.
infact the fuel pump relay was brunt out. Load test the engine earth with an H7 bulb and load test the relays terminal 85 & 86 with a 5 watt and 21 watt bulb.
Mine had a corroded engine to body earth strap at n/s/f.
Solid immobiliser light normally indicates a wiring issue.
Hi lee Already tried jump lead from batt. Neg to starter body &if ypu to ecu mmounting bracket- no change Gone through renault immob. Fault finding doc. Which is online If you search, it points towards ecu which is why I went down that route. Had the starter motor earth issue before checked that first.
hi chris, thanks for yours & lees' replies i'll check the pins on monday am, & post back.
i don't remember seeing a constant live on plug B:J1. on autodata, only an ign. on live which then earth switches the fp & ec relays, i've checked the relays operate & cicuit integrity onwards is all ok i'll post back with results
Yes mate it's there, just double checked, take a closer look.
I've flashed these ecu's on the bench, so I know these three connections are needed to power up.

thanks for the replies
thanks chris it's certainly there poor connection was the cause of the problem in the end
