Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 DCi 2005 - Central locking issue, OS rear door - Unresolved #

Hi,
The o/s/r door will not open from outside in less you open it when locked from inside door handle. The key fob works and opens all other doors and you can hear the door mechanism lock and unlock and it still doesn't open it. The door will then lock again on fob. I have fitted a new lock and I have tested wires best I can but once again autodata has no wiring diagram.
With vaux com it does the same it will lock and open all doors but o/s/r will not open from outside.
Any help please scratching my head?
Anybody got a wiring diagram please?

Check the Wiring in the rubber tube between door and body, ( use a hook and give them all a gentle tug ) and if you can't find a broken wire, Check the other side rear just for the hell of it.

For some reason, the nearside is very common for breaking, I suppose its the side that gets most use for passengers to exit onto the causeway.

It is weird that you can here the door lock and unlock and it still stays locked but its just another thing that you can't take for granted on modern cars, With old cars if it went clunk clunk and didn't lock or unlock, you knew the latch assembly was faulty.

And Yes, The wiring in the N/S/R door can affect the other doors. ( Not sussed out why yet though ) But I suppose some clever guy will come along and tell us why.

Perhaps the clunk you are hearing is the dead-lock releasing, hence you can then open the door from inside, but it isn't receiving the signal to release the lock itself? As Tony said, a broken wire in that instance would cause the fault.

Just a thought.

I will check other side wiring on Friday when I get it back in.
Any one got a wiring diagram?

Not much help but AutoVista does have detailed wiring diagrams for the locking system if you know someone with a access, the diagrams are small but I can zoom in on screen but unfortunately to big to post here

Still waiting to get this back in.
Peter I have signed up to auto vista a month at a time, so if auto data is missing something then I have a back up!

We have one in with same fault but on n.s.r door.
as said it is broken wires on door loom through rubber ducting, this one also needs the actual door loom.
Interesting side effect though, the customer said the radio will only work after actuating the main switch for locking all doors on dash.
All now working after repair kit and door loom fitted, all available from GM, expensive though.
Repair kit retails at £99.50 and door loom is £53.50, all plus vat.
