Citroen Berlingo Multispace RHY 2003 - No front wash / wipe #

Luckily I have a Proxia 3 at the moment So that's what I'm diagnosing it with. Customer complaint is that when he switched the wipers on, they wiped once and then never went again. I have just replaced the starter motor (lots of current, little cranking)and the customer has been using jump leads, so spiking is a possibility. Reading the comms 2000 unit the switch status can be read and are working correctly. Reading the BSI however always shows the wiper signals as "inactive". In output test mode it is possible to remove the ground signal on the slow speed drive but not get 12v on it, although sometimes on reboot the 12v is there briefly, unfortunately the motor was not connected at the time. For completeness the motor has been checked and runs on both speeds at reasonable current. Relevant configuration data appears correct, no rain sensor etc. I also performed the procedure to put the BSI into and out of default mode (Robert Cruickhank posted that, thanks Robert) with no improvement. Software update of BSI has been mentioned also. Any Peugeot Citroen experts able to offer me some advice? Shaun
Re: Citroen Berlingo Multispace no front wash/wipe.
hello Take lower steering column shroud off Ignition ON Unplug grey plug from comm2000( steering column unit) Wipers should do a sweep of screen and side lights come on. Turn ignition off L eave 3 minutes Plug grey plug back in Ignition on Ignition off 3 mins and now you should be ok MARK
Fixed: Citroen Berlingo Multispace no front wash/wipe.
Hi Mark, Thanks for the reply. That's almost the procedure I was running but with no luck. Finally got it to work with your procedure but it only worked when the ignition on/off cycle at the end was very quick, about a second. I suspect the jump starting corrupted something. Now the replacement starter motor is giving trouble, the overrun clutch squeals when the engine fires up and it doesn't always engage the ring gear.Oh joy, let's do the job twice. Shaun.
