Mini Cooper 2003 - Airbag fault, code 0B ignition circuit 1 battery disconnect fault - Fixed #

Hi all
Could anybody help me with this fault code. Airbag light is on all the time, its a static fault and wont clear. Fault code is 0B ignition circuit 1 battery disconnect faulty. Ive looked at the positive terminal on the battery it looks as though there is sensor on the end of the terminal. Is this the sensor or not, any help would be most helpful.

Hi Jamie

The part you are referring to is the battery isolator which breaks the Battery+ supply in the event of a SRS deployment.

These do go faulty. You can test this circuit by disconnecting it at the plug and fitting a 3 ohm test resistor in place and seeing if you can clear the code.

If it is faulty you will have to replace the Battery+ terminal.

Hi Simon
Thanks for the reply, i got a look at it on saturday. You are spot on i think it took a 6 ohm resistor in the circuit and the fault cleared. Can you buy the battery positive terminal seperate or do you have to buy the whole positive cable from front to rear.

As far as I know the agents only supply the whole cable but I have seen garages buy a second hand one and have the local sparky join it into the old one.
