Nissan Navara 2.5 2003 - Non start, code P0076 - Unresolved #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 2.5 diesel

Hi

Jeep was towed into us with a non start problem.We checked it out, fuel coming to pump but doesn't fire the injectors. Read fault code P0076 which is intake valve control solenoid. Has anyone come across similar problem. Is this valve inside injector pump and if so what is cheapest fix?

What are you using to read fault codes ?

Is live data giving you any useful information.

yes it more than likely needs the suction control valve on the hp pump. costs about 170 blips and very handy to do

Thanks for replies,could not read vehicle on texa 2000 so got friend to read on launch x 431 i think..I checked price with local diesel injection specialists and was told if i brought pump to them cheapest repair would be 700 euro and top price 1000.He says big job to take off and refit pump so job inc labour and vat could run to 1600 0r 1700.John,when you say quick job ,does this mean you can fit valve while leaving pump on engine.Customer does not want to spend major money on repair.

there is very little information in your first post, which is possibly the reason for lack of response.

I thought these (2003) where rotary VE pump, John indicates it is common rail. Please clarify which injection system is fitted.

I not convinced that that the p fault code you list relates injection pump or to your non start issue

Please don't contemplate spending customers money on a pump repair until fault is confirmed.

Model is D22 with old type pump and injectors separate,not common rail.P0076 was only code that kept coming back when cranked.Have checked with 2 different injection service centres and both state pump has to be removed and reconditioned with prices ranging from 650 t0 1000 euro plus 13.5 per cent vat.

Do the diesel shops say that fault code relates to an injection pump fault ?

Aidan,yes, both diesel shops say the same thing about code,that it relates to injector pump.

The reason I asked was that the EOBD definition appeared to me to relate in Inlet camshaft VVT solenoid rather than a diesel pump issue.

i would suspect this may to early for EOBD 100%

I would agree 2003 will not be read accuratly on EOBD scanner. I would get it read with somthing more dedicated.

Sorry for not getting back sooner.Our client has not made a decision on where he goes from here as he does not want to incur major cost of repair.Will post back as soon as i have more info.
