Which air impact gun? #

Year of Manufacture *: -

Current gun is on its way out and just wondered what's working well at the moment? Obviously there are the snap on range but seem quite pricey compared to what else is on the market. I recently used an ingersoll rand 2130 for a couple of days and thought it was great for what it costs (around £160) although never had the chance to really test it on say a crank bolt? Has any one used or using one of these or another manufacturer I'm not aware who's producing a good reliable gun? Any advice appreciated. Cheers

We have used CP for 30 + years and have been happy with performance, reliability & price.

Have tried cheaper, but always gone back.

Never used snap on so cant comment

we have 3 IR guns and 1 snap-on one (dont know the model numbers) but to my surprise the snap-on gun is far better than the IR ones. It is a dear gun but in my opinion its worth it for heavy work, how ever the IR guns are much quieter, lighter and neater. They might have been a few quid cheaper but not by much.

I can vouch strongly for snap-on MG gun, it is awesome.

I always had Ingersoll before the snappy and loved it, and was sceptical when the rep asked me to demo one.

I can honestly say I have not looked back!
Never had a refusal on any bolt in over 12 months..
Its that good I bought another for 'stock' incase my current one packs up, but still good.

I changed my ingersoll ones every 8-12 months doing tyres, but the snap on is lasting better.

I've got the IR and the Sanp-on guns, both are good but the Snap-on does edges it for outright power.

As said though the snap-on version is noisey, heavy and not quite as compact as the IR gun.

Also the Snap-on gun is quite a new model compared to the IR which mine is at least 6 year old now.

Was the class leader on its launch (apparantly) so in my opinion its done well to last as it has.

I do reccommend the 3/8 dr version of the IR gun as well, its a cracking little gun for its power and size. Nice for undoing bell housing bolts as its fairly compact.

iirc, CP had a new model released a few months back as there was a write up about it in the PMM magazine and had good specs similar to the snap-on model.

Thanks for all your opinions seems they are all regarded as great gun manufacturers maybe it just comes down to personal preference? I went for the Ingersoll Rand 2135 timax.
Will keep you posted once its arrived and I've had a chance to play with it

thanks again. Came to £211 with a protective boot, delivered. If anyone knows where I could of got one cheaper I DON'T want to know!

I think i bought my IR gun either from the MAC tool or Snap-on van. I know Snap-on repaired it for me.

You wont be disappointed.
