As said though the snap-on version is noisey, heavy and not quite as compact as the IR gun.
Also the Snap-on gun is quite a new model compared to the IR which mine is at least 6 year old now.
Was the class leader on its launch (apparantly) so in my opinion its done well to last as it has.
I do reccommend the 3/8 dr version of the IR gun as well, its a cracking little gun for its power and size. Nice for undoing bell housing bolts as its fairly compact.
iirc, CP had a new model released a few months back as there was a write up about it in the PMM magazine and had good specs similar to the snap-on model.
