Hi all, Had this in last week for a quick code read and road test - back in on Monday. Car had ABS and DSC lights on then later speedo stopped working then apparently later still the central display on the dash stopped working. Using Launch, multiple fault codes present, some cleared but most would not. Whilst not all necessarily connected, here are all the codes remaining from an auto test of the cars systems:
Car Access System (CAS) AOB5 Fault, road speed signal
Lights module (LM) (0, 0, e5, 3e ) Please refer to relevant technical manual.
Satellite , B pillar , right 2 (SBSR2) 9913 Seat-occupancy detector, passenger: open circuit.
My first thought was a speed sensor so a road test to check live data.Trouble is i couldnt find live data for ABS .I could only find the DSC system and there were no comms with the DSC.
My question is , is the correct and only place to look for wheel speed in the DSC module?
During the auto test of all the cars systems the DSC module did'nt even show up.
Cheers
Colin

OK Steve, thanks for the response. That explains no ABS shown seperately. I dont know the battery history until the car comes back on Monday. A flat battery would'nt explain no comms with DSC unit would it?
Cheers
Colin.

On the face of it this does look like a DSC fault, however a flat battery or jump start can cause all sorts of strange faults on these and a battery reset is always a good first step then the three fuses relating to DSC, two behind glove box and one in the boot.
Found the fault with this car. I think the thing that threw me was no comms with the DSC system. The O/S boot helper spring had ripped its mounting off inside the boot and its lethal jagged edge had proceeded to knaw through the wiring , cutting through and shorting wires every time the boot was opened and closed. If you look at the last pic closely you'll see the broken/stripped wiring on the harness going into the fusebox and the repeated rubbing of the main battery cable This was all going on behind the trim panel, a fire waiting to start! All wiring checked and repaired/reinsulated , fuses replaced, codes cleared and luckily no other electrical damage so all systems go again. The O/S helper spring has been removed until its been decided if and how to repair. With hindsight the boot not staying open on its own should have been a clue, but the car was a bit of a dog and I thought that it was just another thing broken on this car! I'm not too impressed with the build quality of the E60 from the ones I've seen so far. Has anyone else seen this on these?
