Volvo V70 2.4 2001 - Customer has lost radio remote key - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2001 "W"
This is the earlier model on the year, i.e the squarer shape one. The customer has lost his only radio remote key and the car is deadlocked. Is there any way the car can be got out of deadlock? I have a spare mechanical key, just no remote. Talking to my local Volvo parts department they seemed to think that it should be possible to bring the car out of deadlock on the door key but this does not seem to work. (to make things worse I put a door latch in this recently and the customer is wondering if I connected the door barrel up correctly, so am I). Is it possible the car will come out of deadlock if the ignition is turned on? If I have to break a window to get in I will but it just seems so crude and I don't want to do it if it doesn't get me anywhere. Any ideas or knowledge gratefully received. Shaun.
you can power up the ign circuit via the reverse light switch with a power pack which would allow you to press the window switch, or may take the deadlock off.
have you tried the key in the boot lock?
alternatly has he got aa/rac membership as they do this a lot
Thanks for the replies, Hi Stuart I did wonder if there was a way to inject some power externally, now I know! The boot lock has a blank in it no barrel as far as I can see, did try to prise it out just in case but no luck, I think the tailgate would be deadlocked also. As customer had parked where he shouldn't he needed to move it so he broke the passenger window. At least he took my advice, ducktaped the window and borrowed my automatic centre punch which as a result made little mess (comparatively). The deadlocks stayed on when the ignition was turned on however. He's covered on his insurance for Autoglass to replace the window, three days now they have been around to finish it, wrong bits everytime! Oh, and by the way, your door card is coming un-glued Sir, we don't do those sort of repairs. So Muggins has reglued that for the AG guy to refit when they come back with the correct clips . Still the guy is a good customer and in the unit next door, "I am happy to pay for your time because I want to be able to call you out again" was his comment. Thank for the input, Shaun.
