Have an Audi TT in. Came in a couple of weeks back with power steering failure. The fluid had all been blown out of the top.
Refilled the fluid with chf, checked no leaks and no problems. Told the customer to try and return if fault reoccurs.
It lasted a week and came back in. Spoke to a local steering rack/pump repair specialist and was told it would be the pump at fault. So i changed the pump for a reconditioned unit. Fitted it yesterday bled up fine all good. Gone to pull car out of the workshop today and exactly the same fault reoccurred. I now have a rather unhappy customer!!
Anyone had this issue before with vag cars? What was the fix? Thinking could possibly be something on the rack? but what? Testing procedures? Not sure what should be doing what really!!
