Rover 25 1.4 2002 - ABS sensor on the short drive shaft? #
Posted by Vince Mosley on December 29, 2010, 3:57 pm Hi, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. I have a friend who is using this car as a basis for a kit car project. He has systematically removed wiring from the loom whilst driving it in and out of his workshop in a bid to cut down on the wiring he will use for the project. He has now removed the engine and box and finds there is what looks like an abs sensor on the short drive shaft, with an abs ring on the shaft. The sensor is fitted and wired into the loom. The car does not have abs or traction control fitted.Does anyone know what this is for. He has asked the ex Rover main dealer and they are of no help what so ever. I offered to ask here as there maybe a Rover whiz who can help. The last question is can it be disconnected without detriment? Thanks in advance and hope you all had a good crimbo and may i wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.
