Porsche 944S2 1989 - Clutch replacement #

Year of Manufacture *: 1989

Hi all

Could anyone offer a realistic labour fit time for a clutch replacement on a 944S2 and what sort of job is it to do please.

Also is it rear axle removal or partial removal for the torque tube?

Being asked to do one and dont want to end up at the deep end!

Hi Simon, allow a day to do the job.

Yes the trans-axle assy needs to be removed from the vehicle and then the torque tube.
Before you remove the bell housing the pivot shaft for the release arm has to be removed,(as far as I can remember this is hidden behind a bolt head and needs a slide hammer)

Part of the exhaust has to be removed before you start the job.

Apart of that it is quite a straight forward job. HTH

Do i need to purchase this special tool/slide hammer or is it possible for me to 'make' something to fit and adapt it to our everyday slide hammmer.

Hi Simon,
nothing special, you can make the adapter with nothing more than a bolt a normal slide hammer and a mig welder.
