Land Rover Discovery TD5 2001 - Car pulling away on its own Archived Message

This car was recovered from the motorway after customer reported the car pulling away on its own, when he got to the hard shoulder removed the key and engine still running at high revs! upon investigation found no compression on no 1 cylinder and oil in the intercooler we guessed turbo gone and engine running on own oil(turbo faults common according to land rover). head removed burnt out valve and seat replaced, reassembled with new turbo. job done!! or so we thought, engine started and running very well no smoke,or misfires but after 10 minutes running has emptied 1/4 tank of diesel into the sump, have not investigated yet how it got there but but with the engine running so well i,m mystified how this has happened.any thoughts would be very much appreciated!!
