Landrover Freelander 2001 TD4 - Clutch replacement Archived Message

    Hi Chap's
Has anyone done a clutch on one of these before? i have to do one tomorrow. The faults is a leaking hydraulic release bearing, clutch fluid running out of bottom of gearbox, and pedal has hit the floor.
I checked the master cylinder and it has a very small filler bottle with a rubber cap on it. It is in a awkward place to fill up, under bulk head. I also noticed that there is a cross on the rubber cap as though you are not to remove it. Spoke to dealers they said it is supposedly a sealed system as though you should replace everything in one go and don't have to bleed it. But all the clutch parts are available from the dealers separately. Also there is a bleed nipple on top of gearbox, i have bled the system once and clutched worked for 4 hours then peddle hit floor again.
Is it OK just to fit bearing and clutch and re bleed?
DO i have to remove TRANSFER BOX or can it stay up there.
Also need an AIR MASS meter for it, anybody know where i can get one cheaper than the dealers, looks identical to Mercedes type fitting with one edge rounded off.
    Many thanks
    DJ
