PEUGEOT 106 1500cc DIESEL 1998 - Fault on fuel gauge Archived Message

Morning all, Had the above car come in for service and fault on fuel gauge, checked feed to tank unit, zero, traced wiring forward, checked all fuses ,earths etc, unfortunately no wiring info for this car then noticed no oil warning lamp or handbrake lamp, charge and glowplug lamps work although for a time we lost glowplug lamp, have removed instrument panel, all bulbs are good, tightened all connectors on pcb, checked voltages at pcb and all seem to be around 5 volts, customer needed car so road tested and noted no speedo, (electronic) customer assures me speedo was working when it came in, dealer says they have replaced a couple of instrument panels at £150 but not enough to be a common fault, has anyone else had a similar experience on 106 , I have on 306`s as has everybody judging by the archives! a lot of time has gone on this job so any info would be greatly appreciated, regards Roger.
