car driving along at 40 mph and suddenly comes to a halt non starter - so towed into workshop. check for spark - no spark at king lead. check coil for switching. 12v boths sides of coil. check pick-up signal at dist' connector. between 2v & 4v sine wave peak to peak. fit new ignition amplifies. still no spark - try different coil. try to switch a 2 watt bulb instead of coil. bulb lit once and once only (we did see 1 spark when checking king lead on cranking) removed distributor, amplifier and coil and set up on bench. spin dist' and still no spark scope pick up and get sine wave of 4v peak to peak
am i missing something here or do i have my head up my derriere !!
