Audi A4 Quattro 2000 - Air bag fault Archived Message

Posted by Andrew Moorey (Tune-Up Ltd) on February 2, 2005, 4:35 pm

Air bag light on. Vag-com showed two faults; Controller memory fault and drivers airbag igniter circuit fault. Disconnected clockspring unit and checked DTCs again, showed airbag circuit now high resistance as third fault. Checked continuity thro' clockspring, igniter circuit had a short between the two wires. New clockspring fitted but unable to clear fault codes. Does this indicate a controller fault? A wiring diag would be appreciated together with any assistance, thanks
    Andrew
