hi mike the kit you have is the auto tensioner type. the initial tension is set by turning the tensioner via the allen key, but the tensioner varies the tension as the engine turns to maintain tension as the injection pump reaches the injection point. this eliminates the "whip" effect that normally occurs through the belt at this point & was the cause of so many belt failures. if the insructions are not with the kit speak to your local ford or ldv dealer who will supply you with a copy. also, do not fit the modified tensioner to turbo engines as this causes the pump timing to fluctuate & puts the management light on. kind regards paul
