Mercedes Sprinter 311cdi 2000 - No feed down to starter motor solenoid hen in start position Archived Message

fault with vehicle is no feed down to starter motor solenoid when in the start position. all ignition lights present, power down from switch to fuse box,no blown fuses. ignition on and power up the solenoid wire and vehicle runs fine. i thought i may have an immobaliser problem but surely it immobilizers the fuel system aswell on these?? autodiagnos will not com with the immob on this, just says it cant find the ecu straight away when selected. now i have traced the wire back from the solenoid (black and yel) to a multiplug at the ns footwell by the ecu, connections are good,it the goes back towards the os over heater assembly....is there a starter relay on these and if so where??? my first real expierience with these vehicles, but i suspect i will be seeing a lot more in the future as they are as common as transits. help

ps.... i suppose another possibility is a fuse box problem?
