Hi Paul,
As well as the airbag lamp illuminating, did you also have the ABS or SERV lamp illuminating as well? If so, this is a known fault with new Clios. Contact your nearest dealer for more info. I'm not too geared up on the exact problem, but apparently Renault know all about the common fault causing this problem!!
